TIG WELDER
Precision Stainless Steel & Vacuum Systems
JOB OVERVIEWWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented TIG Welder to join our production team. In this role, you will primarily perform high-precision fusion TIG welding on stainless steel components. The ideal candidate possesses strong blueprint-reading capabilities, a comprehensive understanding of weld sequencing, and a proven track record of producing high-integrity, vacuum-tight welds in hard-to-reach areas.
DAILY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIESPrecision Fusion Welding:
Perform high-quality fusion TIG (GTAW) welding primarily on stainless steel assemblies and components.
Vacuum Tight Integrity:
Produce leak-free, vacuum-tight welds capable of meeting strict quality control and pressure testing standards, including work in hard-to-reach locations.
Metallurgy & Parameter Setup:
Demonstrate deep understanding of stainless steel metallurgy; select proper weld parameters, gas flow, amperage, and filler rods based on material specifications.
Order of Operations & Sequencing:
Analyze drawings to determine proper weld sequences, identifying main datum points and hole penetration sequences to minimize distortion.
Blueprint Reading:
Read, interpret, and work directly from complex engineering drawings, schematics, and shop blueprints.
Instruction &
Collaboration:
Interpret multi-format instructions (written, oral, diagram, or schedule) and work productively with team members and supervisory staff.
TIG / GTAW Expertise:
Proficient in fusion TIG welding with a heavy emphasis on stainless steel (SST).
Meticulous Attention to Detail:
Unwavering commitment to clean, high-precision welds and visual/structural quality.
Technical Comprehension:
Strong ability to follow directional instructions from supervisors and experienced peers while executing complex technical specifications.
Associate’s Degree or formal certification from an accredited welding training program.
3 to 5 years of dedicated TIG welding experience (or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience).
Demonstrated experience with stainless steel metallurgy and weld parameters.
Prior experience with vacuum welding / high-vacuum component fabrication is strongly preferred.
