Machinist - TIG Welder

Job Description

Ichor Systems is seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience welding stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals using the TIG (GTAW) process. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality welds that meet company and customer specifications.

The shift is Monday through Friday, 6am-2:30pm

• Perform TIG welding on a variety of metals including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
• Set up and operate TIG welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality standards are met.
• Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning, and fitting components.
• Maintain welding equipment and work area in a clean and organized condition.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
• Produce high-quality welds that meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
• Use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions and weld quality.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, productivity, and reduce welding defects.

• Minimum SPM, SKM, or equivalent technical qualification.
• Valid TIG Welding Certification (preferred).
• AWS, ASME, or equivalent welding qualification is an added advantage.
• Minimum 1–3 years of TIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience welding stainless steel sheet metal, tubing, and fabricated components.
• Experience in precision welding for high-quality industrial products is preferred.
• Proficient in TIG (GTAW) welding techniques.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of stainless steel welding processes and material characteristics.
• Familiarity with welding quality standards and inspection requirements.
• Skilled in using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, measuring tapes, and weld gauges.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to stand for extended periods during production.
• Able to lift materials up to company-approved weight limits.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with appropriate PPE.
• Good eyesight and hand-eye coordination for precision welding.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with stainless steel fabrication.
• Blueprint reading and layout experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or industrial fabrication environments.
• Knowledge of welding safety standards and quality inspection methods.

For candidates in CA, the pay range for this position is $29.90 to $50.82 per hour. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.
