Position Overview:
Velo’s 3D printers can build parts that are impossible for every other metalworking machine or technique in the world. As part of this cutting-edge technology, the components that form part of these machines must deliver high performance while maintaining reliability. As a manufacturing technician, you will work under the direction of process and manufacturing engineers to build and test one-of-a-kind system components for R&D and manufacturing teams.
Shift Schedule & Location- Candidates must be available to work Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm with occasional overtime as required.
- Candidates must be able to work on-site in Fremont, CA for the first 6–8 months, after which the position will be based in Livermore, CA
- Candidates will be required to travel approximately
10–15% of the time, including trips of up to one week at a time, to support machine installations at various locations throughout the United States.
- Assemble critical system components, maintaining precision and high standards every time.
- Test system components for performance using advanced metrology equipment.
- Monitor material and parts with a keen eye for defects and non-conformance.
- Maintain organized and detailed testing records.
- Ensure adequate quantities of all necessary subcomponents and materials are available in inventory.

- Work with manufacturing and shipping departments to send system components where they are needed.
- Work with print shop team to develop skills needed to operate systems
- Work with engineering to develop skills required for system bring up
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Mechanical aptitude and at least three years of formal or informal hands‑on experience with mechanical systems and components.
- Preference will be given to those possessing experience with metrology equipment or specialized machinery.

- Other personal protective equipment as applicable
$27 - $29 an hour
