Chemical Manufacturing, Production Manager
You'll be the person the shift runs on: setting the pace, keeping people safe, and keeping product moving.
Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, an established specialty chemical manufacturer supplying the electronics and semiconductor industry. Steady demand, a serious safety culture, and a team that values a supervisor who leads from the floor.
- Hands-on leaders who work alongside their technicians, not from behind a desk
- People comfortable running production around industrial chemicals, with process safety first
- Problem-solvers who own their shift and improve the process, not just follow it
- Steady communicators who stay the calm point of contact when something goes sideways on shift
If you'd rather supervise from an office, or you'd prefer not to work hands-on around industrial chemicals, this isn't the right seat.
You'll own 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM) as the primary point of contact, leading a team of chemical operators and production technicians across batch synthesis and specialty paste production. You'll be the key handoff between shifts, keeping records clean and the next crew set up to succeed.
- Lead the shift: assign and prioritize daily work, coach technicians, and support training and development
- Own safety on your shift: enforce environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements, lead safety meetings, and serve as an emergency incident responder
- Monitor production through the Distributed Control System (DCS), tracking workflow, equipment performance, and output against schedule
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues in real time, coordinating with maintenance, technicians, and lab staff
- Work hands-on alongside technicians in synthesis and paste production to keep batches moving
- Maintain accurate batch records and shift logs so communication between shifts stays tight
- 5+ years in chemical manufacturing, laboratory, pharmaceutical, or a related production environment
- Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or team‑lead experience in a manufacturing, lab, or production setting
- Comfortable working hands‑on around industrial chemicals with a safety‑first mindset
- Available for 2nd shift, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate or bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or business
- Prior experience with batch synthesis and/or specialty paste or compounding operations
- Experience monitoring production on a Distributed Control System (DCS)
