Welder Level 2
We are seeking a skilled and experienced welder to produce high-quality fabrications and welded components for a variety of applications. The ideal candidate will have strong welding and fabrication experience and be capable of working with aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, and occasional exotic materials. This position requires the ability to interpret technical drawings, properly set up welding equipment, produce precision welds, and work with complex joints and challenging weld locations.
A strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and safety is essential.
- Produce high-quality fabrications while welding components made from aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, and occasional exotic materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts.
- Determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Position and clamp metal components for welding without damaging the materials.
- Weld complex mitered and compound angles and saddle joints.
- Produce food-grade, water-tight, and pressure-tested welds.
- Perform welds in potentially hard-to-reach areas.
- Produce quality welds across a wide range of material thicknesses, including material as thin as .005" wall and unlimited thick.
- Maintain consistent weld quality and appearance throughout the fabrication process.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets drawings, specifications, tolerances, and quality requirements.
- Follow established welding procedures and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Identify quality issues or discrepancies and communicate them to management or appropriate personnel.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the welding and fabrication industry.
- Knowledge and experience working with engineering drawings, weld callouts, and GD&T.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of proper weld settings for various materials.
- Experience operating Fronius and Miller welding machines.
- Knowledge of proper filler rod selection for different materials and welding applications.
- Ability to set up welding equipment appropriately for the material and application.
- Experience operating turntables and positioners for continuous OD/.
- Strong understanding of welding techniques and fabrication processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
- Fronius welding machines.
- Miller welding machines.
- Turntables.
- Welding positioners.
- Measuring tools.
- Calipers.
- Standard inspection equipment.
- Other welding and fabrication tools and equipment as required.
- Use measuring tools, calipers, and other standard inspection equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Ability to measure tolerances within 0.010".
- Verify finished work pieces against drawings, specifications, and required tolerances.
- Identify and correct fabrication or welding discrepancies when possible.
- Maintain consistent quality and workmanship throughout the welding process.
- High School Diploma.
- Trade School Diploma or AA preferred.
