Job Title: Shift Supervisor
Location: San Carlos, Ca
Hours : 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM
Department: Manufacturing / Operations
Pay Rate: $30.00 – $32.00 / hour
Position Type: Full-Time, On-site
About the RoleWe are looking for a hands‑on, decisive Shift Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations across our die‑cutting, slitting, and converting lines. In this role, you will be the primary leader on the floor—driving output, resolving operational roadblocks, and keeping team members accountable. If you are an experienced floor supervisor who takes ownership, makes firm decisions in real time, and thrives in a fast‑paced production environment, this is your opportunity to establish strong leadership where it matters most.
TopRequirements
- Proven Floor Leadership: Direct experience successfully leading and running a manufacturing shift—you have owned shift outcomes, managed team dynamics, and driven production goals (not just worked as a senior operator).
- Decisive Problem‑Solving: Ability to evaluate real‑time production, equipment, and staffing issues and make sound decisions independently without escalating every challenge upward.
- Direct Accountability & Communication: A clear, face‑to‑face communication style with the confidence to address operator performance, quality issues, and safety compliance directly on the floor.
- Oversee shift production across die‑cutting, slitting, and converting lines to ensure schedule adherence, optimal staffing, and target output.
- Serve as the first‑line escalation point for operators facing machinery, quality, or raw material issues before involving higher management.
- Conduct clear shift start and end handoffs, communicating daily priorities, carryover challenges, and production goals to incoming/outgoing shifts.
- Actively monitor real‑time production counts, scrap rates, and equipment downtime; intervene quickly to clear bottlenecks.
- Enforce safety policies and quality standards through active, on‑the‑floor spot checks and real‑time corrections.
- Provide ongoing performance coaching and feedback to operators; elevate recurring performance or attendance issues appropriately.
- Lead on‑the‑floor onboarding, training, and development for new machine operators.
- 3+ years of supervisory or shift leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (experience with die‑cutting, web handling, slitting, or converting is a strong plus).
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot basic production bottlenecks and equipment issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a direct, firm, and fair leadership style.
- Familiarity with safety standards (OSHA compliance, machine guarding, LOTO).
- Basic computer literacy for logging shift metrics, scrap rates, and downtime reports.
