Position Summary
The Production Assistant supports daily manufacturing operations by coordinating production activities, maintaining production records, monitoring work orders, and assisting supervisors in achieving production targets. This role works closely with production, quality, engineering, planning, and warehouse teams to ensure efficient manufacturing processes and on-time delivery .
Key Responsibilities- Assist production supervisors with daily manufacturing operations.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure work orders are released on time.
- Track production progress and update manufacturing reports.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Coordinate materials availability with warehouse and inventory teams.
- Support work order creation, closure, and status tracking in ERP/MES systems.
- Assist with production planning and capacity tracking.
- Monitor labor utilization and production efficiency.
- Escalate material shortages, equipment issues, or production delays to supervisors.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing activities.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety procedures, and manufacturing processes.
- Assist with engineering change orders (ECOs) and document updates.
- Coordinate communication between production, quality assurance, engineering, and customer service teams.
- 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, production coordination, or electronics assembly environments.
- Experience working in EMS, PCB assembly (PCBA), or contract manufacturing is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Epicor, etc.).
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with SMT, PCBA, box-build, or final assembly operations.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IPC standards, or electronics manufacturing processes.
- Experience using MES systems.
- Understanding of production planning and inventory control.
