Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (Maternal Child Health)

Fremont, CA

Contract | Day Shift | Onsite

• Provide direct patient care in an LDRP setting supporting labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum patients across an 18-bed LDRP unit with additional overflow postpartum capacity
• Perform vaginal exams, circulate C-sections in one of two dedicated OR suites, and monitor fetal well-being in accordance with AWHONN fetal monitoring standards
• Titrate drips including Pitocin and insulin per unit protocols and physician orders
• Manage and care for patients with common diagnoses including pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including OB, Peds hospitalist, Neonatologist, anesthesia, and surgical techs available on unit
• Float to postpartum in rotation as unit needs require; adhere to AWHONN labor ratios and state 1:4 postpartum ratios

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Demonstrated experience with vaginal exams and circulating C-sections
• Proficiency in AWHONN fetal monitoring
• Experience titrating obstetric drips (Pitocin, insulin)
• Ability to work assigned shifts including weekends and holidays as needed to meet unit coverage requirements

• Familiarity with Epic as an electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) system
• Experience working with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
• Prior experience in a high-volume L&D unit (unit delivers approximately 100–140 births per month)

• Work in a well-supported unit with anesthesia in-house 24/7, surgical tech support, and central telemetry monitoring so RNs are not required to read their own strips
• Hospital-provided scrubs and a structured 3-shift unit orientation to set you up for success
