Veterinary Assistant

Mission Valley Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our collaborative team in central Fremont. You’ll work with dogs, cats, birds, and small mammals in a supportive environment where mentorship, teamwork, and high-quality patient care are top priorities.

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and procedures
• Provide gentle, low-stress patient handling and restraint
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies for appointments and procedures
• Support workflow by maintaining smooth patient flow throughout the day
• Communicate with clients to provide updates, education, and support
• Help with client service tasks including answering phones, scheduling, and check‑in/check‑out
• Maintain clean, organized treatment and exam areas

This is a full-time position with a 5/8 schedule and availability needed for rotating Saturdays.

• Compensation: $22-27 per hour, for each hour worked*
• Bonus package: $500 for those with 3+ years of consecutive, current VA experience

• 2+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
• Strong client service skills
• Venipuncture and administering injections
• Assisting with surgical prep and surgical assistance
• Radiography positioning and technique
• Exotic animal handling experience is a plus!
