Part-Time Veterinary Assistant

Aborn Pet Hospital is growing! We just completed a full hospital renovation, with added exam rooms. We are currently looking to hire Part‑Time Veterinary Assistants to join our team!

• Salary: $23.00 – $28.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.
• Schedule: Part‑time, up to three 8‑hour shifts per week.
  Must be willing to work on Saturday. Closed Sunday and major holidays.

Aborn Pet Hospital is a long‑standing general practice hospital with deep ties to the community, located in Fremont, California. Our busy, four‑doctor practice sees a variety of pets from cats and dogs to small mammals and birds. • 1+ year of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary assistant
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint of cats and dogs
• Ability to perform nursing care in a veterinary hospital setting
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Collect laboratory samples for urinalysis, cytology, bloodwork, fecal analysis
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders
• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment
