The Quality Engineer Level is responsible for executing and managing manufacturing quality activities, including inspection planning, production quality monitoring, and data analysis. This role works with minimal supervision to ensure products and processes meet customer requirements and established quality standards. The position independently identifies quality issues, performs root cause analysis, and drives corrective actions while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and suppliers.

The Quality department is responsible for ensuring product quality throughout the manufacturing lifecycle, from New Product Introduction (NPI) to Mass Production (MP) support. The team monitors manufacturing performance, analyzes test data, drives yield improvement, and ensures compliance with customer requirements and industry standards. It works closely with cross‑functional teams and suppliers to identify risks, resolve quality issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Independently develop, implement, and maintain inspection plans based on customer requirements, testing scripts, and internal quality standards
  • Analyze NPI documentation to define inspection points, required tools, and quality control requirements, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Monitor production quality data, identify trends and recurring issues, and proactively propose solutions to prevent future defects
  • Perform root cause analysis for production failures and lead the implementation of corrective and preventive actions, with minimal supervision
  • Proactively collaborate with Test Engineering and Process Engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing yield and process efficiency
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with defined quality requirements, elevate deviations when necessary, and propose process adjustments
  • Prepare, interpret, and present quality reports, including daily metrics and trend analyses, to internal stakeholders and management
  • Investigate line rejections and verify defect components (LRR/VLRR), and document findings for further analysis
  • Plan and execute customer‑requested inspections, ensuring results are accurate, timely, and properly documented
  • Coordinate with suppliers to address material‑related quality issues, drive issue resolution, and follow up on corrective actions
  • Maintain comprehensive quality records and ensure documentation supports audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills/Abilities: (Example of skills set)
  • Solid understanding of quality principles and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and tracking
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to independently interpret data and identify trends
  • Ability to conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions with minimal guidance
  • Effective communication and coordination skills across cross‑functional teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to drive efficient improvements in product quality and operational performance.
  • Ability to take initiative and drive tasks to completion with minimal supervision
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field is required
  • 2‑6 years of experience in a related field.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
