Laboratory Technician II – Fremont, CA

Laboratory Technician II positions in the Fremont, CA laboratory provide critical support to Air Liquide's analytical operations. Responsibilities include sample handling, preparation, analysis, and data management while ensuring compliance with SOPs, safety policies, and quality standards.

Compensation: $30.00-$32.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, log, and enter sample data into the Laboratory Information Management System accurately and promptly.
  • Transport samples between laboratories as required.
  • Prepare samples for routine analysis using wet chemistry techniques.
  • Prepare reagents and standards for analysis.
  • Clean bottles, glassware, plasticware, and silicon wafers for trace metal analysis.
  • Prepare witness wafer kits for customers.
  • Assist in packaging samples for return shipments.
  • Follow all SOPs and lab safety and quality requirements.
  • Engage in ongoing training and promote a safe working environment.
  • Understand and follow safe handling procedures for hazardous chemicals.
  • Collaborate with team members on analyses as needed.
  • Communicate with the commercial team, other lab groups, and customers.
  • Update laboratory manager and supervisor on lab activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts, including method development.
  • Maintain 6S organization in the laboratory.
  • Align with the established Quality System and identify quality enhancement opportunities.
  • Support client‑site sampling when assigned and collaborate on additional team initiatives.
Qualifications
  • BS in Chemistry or a related science with 1-2 years experience, OR Associate Degree with 2-3 years experience, OR High School Diploma with 3-5 years industrial laboratory experience.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working safely in a laboratory, maintaining a safety culture and ensuring compliance with safety training.
  • Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIMS) and MS Office suite, including Excel, Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides.
  • Ability to support other laboratory areas as needed.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, self‑motivation, and initiative.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to short notice changes.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy loads (over 50 lbs) with assistance.
  • Valid U.S. employment authorization; no visa sponsorship required.
