Metrology Technician

Job Details

This position will work the night shift, 6pm - 6am, Thursday - Saturday, including every alternating Wednesday. The role will report to the Senior Manager of Metrology and will be based in Fremont, CA. This is a fully on-site, in factory role.

• Provide shift coverage (weekends) of all Metrology Engineering activities across multiple functional areas for fuel cell manufacturing.
• Provide rapid response to metrology and inspection equipment downtime and out-of-control conditions.
• Verifying the validity of detected defects, optimizing inspection software to minimize false rejects, and troubleshooting issues across optical, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Demonstrate the ability to identify and respond to abnormal conditions, coordinating containment actions and implementing corrective measures within a cross-functional team environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and deliver clear, timely daily reports to the team.
• Perform routine measurements, conduct equipment calibrations, and execute Gauge R&R studies to ensure measurement accuracy and system reliability.
• Ensure work meets or exceeds company workmanship standards.
• Continuously improve efficiency.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or relevant coursework preferred.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED); technical certifications or relevant coursework with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing or related environment.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting high-precision machinery and vision inspection systems.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to technical issues.
• Ability to follow direction, meet deadlines, and collaborate in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written skill set.
• Familiarity with optics and vision system programming is preferred.
• Adhere to safety requirements and ability to work in a controlled environment wearing personal protective safety equipment (PPE).

Salary Ranges: $28.02 - $40.32
