Job Description & How to Apply Below

At Alamar, we are passionate about enabling our customers to make scientific discoveries that translate into clinical outcomes and benefit patients. Our team is growing quickly as we develop innovative approaches to measure critical protein biomarkers from liquid samples that can enable the earliest possible detection of disease. We believe the next frontier in biology is enabled by measuring proteins at higher sensitivity in highly multiplexed assays at the push of a button, which is something only Alamar can do.

As we build our team, we seek collaborative, driven, intellectually curious people committed to solving complex challenges. Our culture rewards accountability and cross functional teamwork because we believe this enables the kind of breakthrough thinking that will accelerate our mission.

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist II to join the Product Development team supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and ongoing product development efforts. This role is hands‑on in the lab, with a strong emphasis on supporting lyophilization development, reagent characterization, and QC testing. The successful candidate will play a key role in executing experiments, generating high‑quality data, and supporting the development of robust, manufacturable products.

This position operates at the interface of R&D and Operations and focuses on experimental execution, assay testing (including NULISA and related platforms), and supporting product transfer activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute laboratory experiments, analytical assays, QC testing, and product characterization to evaluate NULISA product performance, quality, and stability
  • Generate, document, and analyze experimental data with strong attention to accuracy and reproducibility
  • Maintain detailed and organized laboratory records
  • Support development and optimization of lyophilized reagent formulations and processes
  • Execute experiments evaluating lyophilization performance, stability, and reconstitution
  • Support verification and validation (V&V) studies under guidance and established protocols
  • Assist in product transfer and NPI activities by executing experiments and preparing documentation
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, QC, and Quality
  • Maintain lab equipment, inventory, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or related field with 2+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Hands‑on experience executing laboratory experiments in a biotech or life sciences setting
  • Experience with basic assay techniques such as immunoassays or molecular biology methods
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform routine laboratory tasks with consistency and accuracy to generate high‑quality, reproducible data
  • Ability to follow established protocols and execute experiments with guidance while building independence
  • Strong record‑keeping and documentation skills, with attention to experimental details, observations, deviations, and results
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience with immunoassays (ELISA, MSD, Simoa) and molecular assays (PCR, qPCR)
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment and workflows
  • Basic data analysis skills using Excel or similar tools
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with lyophilization or reagent stabilization techniques
  • Experience running or supporting NULISA or similar assay platforms
  • Exposure to QC testing, assay characterization, or V&V studies
  • Experience in product development or manufacturing support environments
  • Familiarity with regulated environments (ISO 13485, GLP, GMP)
