Summary
The R&D Scientist will lead the development and commercialization of innovative nutraceutical products from concept through market launch. This hands‑on role is responsible for creating and optimizing formulations, supporting scale‑up and manufacturing, and partnering with Sales, customers, and cross‑functional teams to deliver customized solutions. The position also plays a key role in product innovation, process improvement, technical presentations, regulatory documentation, shelf‑life testing, ingredient sourcing, packaging, and commercialization activities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead new product development and commercialization projects from ideation through market launch.
- Develop and optimize tablet, capsule, and powder formulations.
- Conduct bench‑top trials, plant trials, scale‑up, and process validation activities.
- Partner with Sales, customers, R&D, Operations, Quality, and Packaging to deliver innovative product solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, including Master Manufacturing Records (MMRs), product specifications, and label reviews.
- Coordinate shelf‑life studies, prototype development, and commercialization support.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and identify formulation and process improvements.
- Support ingredient sourcing, packaging selection, and quality certifications, including Kosher, Organic, and GFCO.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- 3+ years of hands‑on product development experience with tablets, capsules, or powder formulations within the nutraceutical or sports nutrition industry.
- Strong formulation skills with a solid understanding of ingredient functionality, flavor systems, sensory evaluation, and nutrition.
- Experience leading products through commercialization, including scale‑up and manufacturing support.
- Experience conducting plant trials and process validation.
- Strong written, verbal, and customer‑facing communication skills.
- Knowledge of Nutrition Facts, Supplement Facts, and shelf‑life testing is a plus.
Salary Range $100,000-$125,000
