Director of Waste Industry Development
The Director of Waste Industry Development is responsible for creating executive-level access and strategic opportunities within the North American waste industry. This role leverages industry relationships and expertise to engage senior leaders at major waste fleets, identify strategic opportunities, and position the company's solutions with key decision makers. Revenue ownership, account management, proposal development, and commercial execution remain the responsibility of the Commercial Director and sales organization.
ResponsibilitiesExecutive Relationship Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with executives at major waste fleets.
- Create introductions and strategic discussions with fleet, safety, operations, and innovation leaders.
- Open doors within targeted enterprise accounts.
- Expand executive-level engagement across multiple business units and regions.
- Identify opportunities where the company's solutions align with fleet priorities.
- Facilitate pilot program discussions and executive sponsorship.
- Support expansion of existing customer relationships.
- Help navigate complex buying organizations.
- Represent the company at waste industry conferences and events.
- Build relationships with industry associations and influencers.
- Strengthen the company's visibility and credibility within the waste market.
- Provide insights into industry trends, fleet priorities, competitive activity, and emerging needs.
- Help leadership understand changes in customer requirements and buying behavior.
- Recommend strategic account priorities.
- Work closely with the Commercial Director to transition opportunities into active sales engagements.
- Support marketing with industry insights and customer perspectives.
- Assist product teams by communicating market needs and operational challenges.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- More than 5 years work experience in Waste Industry
