• Drive overall sales and relationship management for existing and prospective customers within the assigned territory.
• Pursue new customers, deepen and strengthen existing customer relationships, and manage sales territory.
• Research industry and market trends impacting restaurants within the territory.
• Identify and research prospective customers within the territory.
• Develop sales strategies that highlight products, services, values, and solutions offered by Gordon Food Service and present the strategy to prospective customers.
• Visit all customers within the assigned territory on a weekly, bi‑weekly, or monthly basis.
• Conduct business reviews to determine existing customer needs and areas of opportunity for growing sales.
• Provide ongoing training to customers on Gordon Food Service product offerings.
• Identify opportunities within existing customer businesses where Gordon Food Service can add value through product and service offerings.
• Balance new customer acquisition with deepening and strengthening existing customer relationships.
• Coordinate visits to prospective customers and existing customers.
• Communicate order status and order processing updates to customers.

• Learn to use Gordon Food Service systems, processes, and tools to manage customer relationships.
• Get familiar with the products available to Gordon Food Service customers.
• Understand the sales process for engaging new customers.
• Establish relationships in the vast network of resources available to you as a Gordon Food Service sales representative.
• Apply best practices on developing relationships with current and prospective customers.
• Master strategies for effectively managing your territory.

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor's degree and/or culinary certificate preferred.
• 1 year of prior sales, business, or food service experience.
• Maintaining a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Ability to obtain your food safety certification.
• Any candidate who works for a Gordon Food Service customer must provide a letter of support from their management if selected for the interview process.
