Description

• Installation:
  Stringing and securing new fiber optic cables on poles, ensuring proper tension and support.
• Maintenance and repair:
  Inspecting for wear and tear, re‑tensioning cables, and repairing damaged lines to prevent service interruptions.
• Splicing and termination:
  Joining new cable sections and connecting lines to service points using specialized tools and techniques.
• Testing:
  Test signal integrity, pinpoint issues, and verify compliance with standards.
• Safety:
  Adhering to strict safety protocols.

• Technical knowledge:
  Understanding of fiber optic cables, splicing, and testing equipment.
• Physical fitness:
  Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Comfort with heights:
  Experience working safely from aerial lifts and/or bucket trucks.
• Attention to detail:
  Necessary for handling delicate fiber cables and performing precise work.
• Collaboration:
  
  Working as part of a crew under the supervision of a lead technician.

Entry Level

Contract position based out of Fremont, CA.

Pay range: $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
