Position OverviewThe Drain Technician is responsible for meeting with customers to identify and diagnose specific drain/sewer piping concerns, excising the line(s) to restore flow, and advising customers on next steps, including coordination with a Camera Technician for a main inspection. Drain Technicians produce quality, on‑time inspections and clearing installations of plumbing jobs in accordance with local plumbing codes.
Essential Functions- Ensure safety of self, employer vehicles, equipment, and customer homes.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Perform drain clearing at customer homes and provide overall assessment of known systems.
- Guide homeowners on next steps to permanently repair sewer lines.
- Maintain efficient workflow and keep job areas clean.
- Collaborate closely with Camera Technician, Dispatch, and Sewer Supervisor to provide customer solutions.
- Represent the company professionally and ethically.
- Maintain a customer‑oriented focus.
- Communicate politely and effectively with customers.
- Work as part of a team with managers and other departments.
- Participate in department meetings.
- Demonstrate knowledge of sewer systems, repair and installation using standard tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Demonstrate strong writing skills with a focus on technical accuracy and clarity.
- Apply and monitor safety practices, and report violations to the Sewer Supervisor.
- Thorough knowledge of all sewer systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Assist in evaluating assigned install team personnel on job performance and provide field coaching as needed.
- Follow and demonstrate company policies with team members.
- Diagnostic and analytical skills.
- Work well under pressure.
- Effective communication with customers, install team members, dispatch, and management.
$18 USD – $22 USD.
