Installation Technician
Job Summary
We are hiring Data Center Technicians with early‑stage experience in structured cabling, low‑voltage systems, and data center environments. This is a contract‑to‑hire opportunity for individuals who have gained foundational field experience and are ready to expand their technical skills through hands‑on project work and mentorship. Technicians will support the installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems, infrastructure hardware, and data center equipment in commercial construction and telecommunications environments.
Job Responsibilities- Perform structured cabling installations, including fiber and copper cable rough‑in, routing, dressing, and support.
- Terminate and test fiber and copper cabling with moderate supervision.
- Rack and stack network equipment, including server installations and rack elevations.
- Install infrastructure hardware such as ladder racks, fiber trays, cabinets, and cable management systems.
- Read and follow blueprints, installation standards, and project documentation.
- Assist with Outside Plant (OSP) fiber installations into data center environments.
- Receive, organize, and inventory materials and equipment.
- Assemble hardware components and support equipment deployments.
- Maintain compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and professional.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and project leadership.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1‑2 years of experience in a data center, structured cabling, low‑voltage, commercial construction, or related electrical environment.
- Experience with fiber and copper cabling installation, termination, and testing practices.
- Completion of or participation in an electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and technical documentation.
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move items weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Must possess and maintain basic hand tools, including a multi‑bit screwdriver, snips, punch tool, pliers, tape measure, flashlight, tool pouch, and steel or composite toe work boots.
- Must have reliable transportation and access to a personal vehicle.
- Experience supporting data center infrastructure projects, structured cabling installations, low‑voltage systems, or commercial construction projects preferred.
- Exposure to telecommunications, network infrastructure, or electrical construction environments is highly desirable.

- Candidates must be willing to work night shifts when required.
- Most work is performed locally; however, occasional travel opportunities may be available for individuals who are willing to travel.
- Reliable attendance and schedule flexibility are required to support project timelines and customer requirements.
