The Mechanic IV is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. This role requires technical expertise and the ability to perform complex maintenance tasks independently, contributing to the reliability and safety of vehicles.

Routine and general maintenance tasks
- Perform engine oil/filter changes, air filter replacements, and chassis lubrication, ensuring these basic maintenance functions are completed to maintain vehicle performance.
- Change transmission fluid and filters, check differential fluid, and replace tires, ensuring vehicle systems are in optimal working condition.
- Remove and install seats, brake drums and shoes, and suspension components, ensuring precise assembly and alignment for proper functionality.
Troubleshoot and repair engine and body accessories
- Diagnose and repair engine and body accessories, addressing common issues in alternators, generators, and voltage regulators to restore proper electrical function.
- Service suspension systems, braking systems, and steering components, following standard troubleshooting procedures to resolve routine issues.
Electrical and pneumatic system maintenance
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including gauges, lighting, and electric motors, resolving basic electrical issues, and ensuring proper functionality.
- Maintain and service pneumatic valves, control cables, and linkages, ensuring these components operate efficiently within vehicle systems.
Repair or replace essential vehicle components
- Repair or replace critical components such as radiators, water pumps, hoses, wheel bearings, seals, door assemblies, seating components, and control systems, ensuring all parts fit correctly and function as needed.
Glass installations and body repairs
- Install glass and perform basic body repairs, ensuring proper fit and secure installation with attention to detail and craftsmanship.

What you need to be successful:
- While formal education in an automotive repair, mechanics, or a related field is a strong asset, it is not a requirement for this role. We value hands-on experience, a willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic just as highly.
- 0-3 years of experience in automotive, diesel, or related fields. Familiarity with engine, driveline, and electrical systems is preferred.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Air and Passenger endorsements is preferred but not required.
- Utilize systems like Vansco, Cummins INSITE, and other diagnostic tools to assess and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, ensuring accurate and efficient diagnoses.
- Operate platforms like Oracle and Fleetio to track maintenance activities, input work orders, and manage fleet data, ensuring streamlined operations and up-to-date records.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook for email and calendar management, as well as the ability to quickly learn and navigate other digital tools and software.
Physical activity/requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 75 pounds with assistance.
- Perform repetitive tasks, including bending, kneeling, and crouching, throughout the workday.
- Must have the physical ability to climb ladders, work on elevated surfaces, and access tight or confined spaces to service vehicles.
- Proficiency handling tools, manipulate small components, and operate equipment with precision.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and work on concrete surfaces for extended periods of time (up to 8+ hours).
