Electrician Technician

Responsibilities

Assist in system electrical layout. Specify improved electrical materials including wiring, connectors, PLC’s, etc. Create FRACAS entries as needed. Rework wiring harnesses as technical changes arise. Create wiring lists and convert to electrical drawings. Make technical changes to hardware layout and administer using the ECO process. Perform I/O testing on systems to ready for startup. Assist in system startup procedures. Bench test electrical devices such as power supplies, battery assemblies, and PCBs.

Assist in troubleshooting gateway computers and ancillary hardware. Make recommendations for electrical layout improvements. Assist in monitoring system performance at subsystem level.

• High school diploma with training certification.
• At least 7 years of related experience.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Trained and hands‑on lockout/tagout.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits, using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, ensuring compatibility and safety.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and controls issues in circuits containing transformers, disconnects, overcurrent protection devices, and general control components (relays, timers, etc).
• Must be able to follow directions and work with minimal supervision.
• Experience with instrumentation including pneumatic, electronic and digital equipment.
• Fault analysis of hardwired relay logic, motor control circuits, motor power circuits (120 V to 480 V 3‑phase) and common utility/lighting circuits.
• Installation of new control circuits and modification of existing instrument/electrical systems, including design, load and implementation of new control logic.
• Ability to interpret schematic drawings of pneumatic loops, hardware relay logic diagrams, PLC control programs, motor control circuit diagrams, etc.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Must be able to lift 45 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Must be flexible with changing shifts or work schedule.
• High School graduate or GED equivalent, demonstrating proficiency in both oral and written communication.
• Minimum eight years’ experience.
