EPC Energy is a leading high-growth renewable energy engineering and construction firm specializing in modern, commercial-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) arrays and advanced Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). We construct high-performance, resilient clean energy systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects for clients all across North America. We are seeking a safety-conscious, career-oriented, and technically proficient Solar & Battery Electrician to join our expanding construction fleet.

Summary

The Solar & Battery Electrician is a key field position focused on the mechanical and electrical deployment, wiring, and termination of cutting-edge commercial solar arrays and BESS hardware. Working directly under the supervision of the Electric Foreman, you will execute conduit bending, conductor routing, panel board integration, and equipment testing. This position offers an accelerated growth track into renewable infrastructure and electrical asset management, demanding technical reliability and consistent multi-site travel.

Logistical Package:
Field travel to various regional project sites is a mandatory core requirement of this role. EPC Energy covers 100% of travel logistics (flights, multi-state transit, or fleet vehicles), lodging, and provides a daily tax-free Per Diem allowance to cover meals and incidental expenses.

Essential Duties & R
  • Electrical Installation:
    Wire, land, and terminate AC and DC circuits, solar PV modules, string inverters, rapid shutdown devices, and lithium-ion battery modules inside storage enclosures.
  • Mechanical Assembly:
    Collaborate with field installers to safely mount racking systems, structural ballast blocks, roof attachments, tracker profiles, and heavy storage cabinet subassemblies.
  • Raceway Construction:
    Measure, bend, thread, and install various electrical conduits (EMT, IMC, PVC, and Rigid) across complex indoor, underground, and roofop routes.
  • Site Safety & Housekeeping:
    Maintain a hyper-clean, professional, and completely hazard-free jobsite. Ensure that the active workspace remains entirely clear of construction debris, scrap materials, and packaging at all times in full compliance with OSHA guidelines.
  • Tool & Parts Organization:
    Securely manage, categorize, and organize project components, hardware parts, electrical consumables, and professional hand/power tools within company fleet vehicles and onsite warehouse layouts.
  • Site Surveys & Audits:
    Conduct detailed site measurements, structural mapping, and electrical pre-assessments to flag plan discrepancies prior to active assembly.
  • Workflow & Strategy Coordination:
    Sync daily with the Electric Foreman / Crew Lead to review project schematic details, clarify production quotas, and execute structural safety targets.
  • Inventory & Fleet Readiness:
    Pack, audit, and organize company fleet vehicles with appropriate tools, components, safety gear, and specific wire consumables to ensure field operational efficiency.
  • Testing & Diagnostics:
    Assist in operating digital multi-meters, insulation testers, thermal cameras, and irradiance meters to troubleshoot, commission, or repair clean energy systems.
  • Training & Development:
    Actively participate in mandatory company and manufacturer training focusing on energy storage standards, high-voltage safety, and specialized instrumentation tools.
Minmum Qualifications
  • Education:

    High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational trade training certificate.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 2 years of hands-on electrical field construction experience (Solar, BESS, industrial, or commercial electrical sectors are highly preferred).
  • Technical Aptitude:
    Strong basic competency in reading electrical blueprints, wiring schematics, physical layouts, and technical assembly manuals.
  • Digital Literacy:
    Basic computer and mobile application skills are absolute requirements (essential for submitting digital timecards, retrieving cloud-stored schematic modifications and equipment setup).
  • Driving Record:
    Valid Driver's License accompanied by a clean and verifiable driving record.
  • Professionalism:
    Strong track record of reliable on-time attendance and strict commitment to safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensure:
    Active state-issued Electrical Journeyman's License.
  • Certifications:

    NABCEP Associate or Professional Certification; OSHA 30 or OSHA 0 Construction Safety Card.
  • Advanced Technical Knowledge:
    In-depth understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) regulations, with an emphasis on Article 690 (Solar Photovoltaic Systems) and Article 06 (Energy Storage Systems).
  • System Familiarity:
    Proficient in installing and commissioning grid-tied micro-inverters, multi-string commercial inverters, and multi-abinet energy storage setups.
