HVAC Technician
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our facilities operations team. The role involves performing general, preventative, and emergency maintenance of facilities equipment with a strong focus on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and process systems operation and maintenance.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on refrigeration units, air handling systems, chillers, and HVAC infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance using Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support HVAC needs in production and common space areas.
- Execute root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions for recurring issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and energy efficiency standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system performance, and parts inventory.
- Support commissioning of new systems and retrofits of existing infrastructure.
- Install, maintain, and repair air conditioning units (split, rooftop, and packaged systems), furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, chillers, air handlers, VAVs, ductwork, thermostats, and control systems.
- Experience with crane/rigging, motor replacements, pumps and fittings repair, and replacing pipes.
- Possess knowledge of Cooling Towers and RTUs components.
- Demonstrate brazing and welding skills, mechanical emergency shutdown knowledge, CMMS, and refrigerant handling.
- Experience with VFDs, PLCs, and automated control systems.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with commercial/industrial refrigeration and air handling systems, but candidates with 1 year of experience are also considered.
- EPA Universal Certification required; additional HVAC/R certifications are a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and O&M manuals.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-tech environments with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, safety-first mindset.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in mechanical and electrical service, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Experience with chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, compressors.
- Crane/rigging experience preferred.

Work EnvironmentWork is conducted onsite at the Fremont location, with occasional travel to the Fremont Factory as needed. The team consists of 15 technicians, not including engineers. The shift is currently scheduled from Wednesday through Sunday, 10 pm to 6:30 am.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
