What to Expect

Tesla's Energy & Charging Services organization operates and maintains deployed assets including North American residential & commercial solar, global behind-the-meter & front-of-meter storage, and global electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The mission of the organization is to maximize fleet health and delight our customers while minimizing the cost of maintaining the fleet.

The Energy Services Data & Analytics team supports the data engineering and analytics needs of the residential organization: including Field Service, Technical Support, Contact Centers, Asset Management, and other functions. The Analytics Manager will be accountable to build and maintain tools and dashboards that help us monitor fleet health, measure service efficiency and effectiveness, and automate processes. The team will unearth valuable business intelligence and help drive smart business decisions.

The Energy Services Transformation & Analytics team is embedded in daily operations, supporting both near‑term execution and long‑term planning. Team members are expected to partner closely with the business to analyze technical data, provide recommendations, and lead cross‑functional decision‑making and implementation of the recommendations.

What You'll Do
  • Manage a team of Data Analysts who are responsible for building applications, tools & dashboards used by Energy Services leaders and high‑impact functions, such as Scheduling.
  • Translate business problems into analytical requirements and workflow automation tools.
  • Apply data engineering techniques, such as Python and ETLs, to aggregate information from multiple servers and sources to simplify complex processes into a scalable Data Analytics tool.
  • Partner with Software Engineering and Business Intelligence to make information captured in proprietary software tools available for Data Analysis.
  • Own cross‑functional relationships with business leaders, such as Field Managers, to develop insightful metrics and help use analytics tools to make better decisions.
  • Define and implement efficiency measures for end‑to‑end service operations management: processing of inbound customer issues, scheduling & planning, and field execution.
  • Develop tools that can be used by internal Tesla departments to report to B2B customers, such as Powerwall installers’ quality, defective part returns, and outstanding service issues.
What You'll Bring
  • 7+ years of professional experience in quantitative analysis or analytics, including team leadership and management.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science preferred or comparable experience.
  • Expertise in SQL, Python, Microsoft Excel, and visualization tools like Power

    BI or Tableau.
  • Data engineering skillsets to extract, transform, and load (ETL) information from different sources into a single table for Data Analysis using tools such as Python.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills to help refine problem statements and figure out how to solve them with the available data.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑pace, high‑volume, and ambiguous environment, taking initiative to create clarity and forward progress.
  • Highly collaborative, team‑oriented, and comfortable leading cross‑functional projects, especially those consisting of both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Compensation and Benefits

Along with competitive pay, as a full‑time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:
