Logistic Lead Onsite – Fremont, CA or Nashville, TN
The Logistics Supervisor will be based in Fremont, CA or Nashville, TN and will report to the US Logistic Director. This role is responsible for overseeing the end‑to‑end coordination of project‑level deliveries across the U.S., ensuring materials reach job sites on time and in full. You will work closely with freight forwarders, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to manage routing strategies, resolve logistical challenges, and maintain customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Support Nextracker Delivery Managers and Project Managers to ensure on‑time delivery (OTD) and customer satisfaction.
- Implement optimal transportation modes and routing strategies for all projects, balancing OTD and cost objectives.
- Monitor the team’s daily performance using KPI’s and metrics during project execution.
- Resolve challenges with suppliers, freight forwarders, project managers, and other stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Initiate and drive cross‑functional discussions to develop risk‑mitigation strategies.
- Attend regular meetings with internal customers (Project Managers and Sales teams) and external stakeholders as needed.
- Serve as the primary logistics point of contact for key customers, coordinating with Planning, Suppliers, and Project Management to address delivery‑related inquiries.
- Handle deliveries to remote and project‑based locations, accounting for unique logistics challenges that differ from traditional warehouse operations.
- Support smaller accounts initially while scaling responsibilities to larger customers over time.
- Minimum 5–8 years of work experience in transport and logistics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business / Commerce or equivalent experience in the logistics industry.
- Ability to supervise a team of 3–4 and manage multiple projects within the U.S.
- Experience working across different time zones and cultures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Multitasking skills – able to handle various assignments simultaneously across multiple sites, locations, and deadlines.
- Extensive knowledge of the freight and transport industries (mainly ocean & road within the U.S.).
- Freight forwarding (FF) experience at the project level, with a strong understanding of logistics in remote job site environments.
- Advanced proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
- Customer centricity and results orientation.
- Experience in project logistics (preferably Solar or Oil & Gas).
- Familiarity with systems such as Net Suite, Anaplan, and Matrixfactors (Transportation Management System).
