 Sunnyvale Seafood Co., based in Union City, California, is looking for a Warehouse Associate.

 Under general supervision from the Shift Supervisor or Operations Manager, the Warehouse Worker is responsible for accurately selecting store orders from designated bin locations throughout the warehouse and loading the product onto trailers in a high-volume and fast paced distribution environment.
 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
• Transfer materials and items from the receiving dock to the bin location or other designated area by hand, hand truck, forklift, or other industrial powered truck
 
• Operate and perform preventive maintenance on forklift, truck, and/or railcar.
 
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence or product code. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed
 
• Assemble orders from stock and place orders on pallets. Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to the packing station or the shipping department
 
• Prepare orders for shipping and load the order onto trailers.
 
• Assists other Warehouse Workers in completing tasks as requested by the Warehouse Manager and/or immediate supervisor.
 
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
 
• Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
 
• Fill work orders.
 
• Weighs or counts items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards.
 
• Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
 
• Move waste from the assembly line to dumpsters.
 
• Complete daily logs
 
• Responsible for quality control. No damaged product is sent out. No damaged raw material is accepted in.
 
• Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
 
• Stage finished product for loading
 
• Load finished product onto truck
 
• Unload products from the truck
 
• Proper attire is required for specific job functions
 
• Other duties may be assigned
 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL
 
• High School graduate/GED preferred
 
• Must be reliable/dependable
 
• Attention to detail
 
• Basic math skills.
 
• Be able to follow and take direction
 
• Prior warehouse and forklift, pallet jack experience preferred.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• A warehouse environment is subject to exposure to extreme temperature changes, moisture, noise, odors, and moving equipment. Must be comfortable working in cold environments (freezer).
 
• May be required to move heavy items, run forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment on occasion, must be able to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 75lbs
 
• May be required to help perform other physical activities such as moving pallets, sorting product, loading trucks, reaching, standing for long periods of time, bending, repetitive arm movement, or climbing
 
• Schedule to work from Sunday to Thursday, 9 am to 6 pm.
