Forklift Operator/ Cherry Picker
Volt is hiring for a 1st Shift Order Picker (Cherry Picker Operator) for a leading furniture distribution and warehouse operation in Fremont, CA.
As an Order Picker you will:
- Operate cherry picker forklifts and order pickers throughout the warehouse
- Pick and fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Pull product for outbound shipments to retail stores and distribution centers
- Move inbound freight from receiving bins to assigned rack locations based on product type and dimensions
- Relocate product from end caps and service areas into racking systems
- Scan merchandise using RF handheld scanners prior to relocating product
- Ensure inbound product and transfers are stored in designated rack areas
- Transport completed orders to the dock using material handling equipment
- Position oversized and heavy furniture safely onto racking systems
- Inspect forklift and equipment before and during operation
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse floor free from debris
- Conduct operations in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and condition of all orders shipped
- Meet or exceed company productivity standards
The ideal candidate will have:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1–2 years of cherry picker / order picker forklift experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Experience handling large, heavy furniture (highly preferred)
- Comfort working at height on a large cherry picker platform
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Experience using RF scanning equipment
- Experience working in furniture or large-item distribution warehouses is a huge plus.
Schedule:
5:00 AM – 1:30 PM, (Thursday
- Monday) five days per week; days off Tuesday & Wednesday.
This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity.
Pay Rate: $21/hr.
