Material Handler
This role is responsible for supporting production and warehouse operations through recycling collection, material handling, loading and unloading, and inventory-related activities. You will move materials throughout the facility, prepare components, and ensure that recycling and waste streams are properly managed. Some positions in this role focus primarily on detrashing, recycling, and material preparation, while others focus heavily on loading high volumes of racks and performing systematic scanning.
This is a physically demanding position that requires frequent heavy lifting and consistent attention to detail.
- Collect recycling items from production areas and ensure they are properly handled and transported.
- Sort cardboard and other recyclable materials from general waste streams.
- Sort through recycling and trash bins to separate materials according to established procedures.
- Transport recycling items from bins to designated containers safely and efficiently.
- Load and offload pallets from trailers using appropriate material-handling methods.
- Stage material in warehouse lanes as instructed to support efficient production and shipping workflows.
- Move materials to production and other locations throughout the facility as required.
- Package and unpack materials as needed to support production and inventory processes.
- Examine items for defects, wear, or damage and identify issues with materials or equipment.
- Report information about damaged stock and material-handling equipment to the warehouse leadership team.
- Maintain accurate records of damaged stock and damaged material-handling equipment.
- Perform any other tasks assigned that support production, recycling, and warehouse operations.
- Move racks from staging areas to loading racks, ensuring proper placement and handling.
- Perform systematic scanning for approximately 10% of the shift using RF scanners or similar devices.
- Load a high volume of racks throughout the shift, focusing on consistent, safe, and efficient handling.
- Follow established methods and sequences of operations when unpacking and preparing components.
- Perform heavy lifting for the majority of the shift, handling materials and racks safely and consistently.
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods while performing material-handling tasks.
- Ability to work safely and effectively on ladders when required.
- Strong manual dexterity for handling materials, packaging, and equipment.
- Ability to work under close supervision and follow established procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and support coworkers.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written directions.
- Experience with loading and unloading trucks in a warehouse or production environment.
- Ability to use RF scanners for systematic scanning and inventory-related tasks.
- Experience with picking, order picking, and packaging in a material-handling or warehouse role.
- Experience with unloading and loading materials, pallets, or racks.
- Comfort with performing heavy lifting for up to 95% of the shift in loader-focused positions.
- Basic inventory awareness and ability to support inventory control activities.
- Ability to meet all screening requirements related to physical demands and job duties.

- Experience as a material handler in a production or warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with detrashing, recycling processes, and material preparation.
- Basic understanding of forklift operations and safe material-handling practices.
- Attention to detail when examining items for defects, wear, or damage.
- Record-keeping skills for tracking damaged stock and equipment.
- Reliability and strong attendance to support high-volume operations.
- Willingness to perform repetitive tasks and maintain productivity throughout the shift.

WorkEnvironment
The role is based in an ESD-regulated, high-security production and warehouse environment. Electronic devices are not allowed in the production area, and team members must follow strict access and security protocols. Smocks and ESD straps are required attire to maintain safety and protect sensitive equipment and materials. Work is performed primarily on your feet, often involving prolonged standing, frequent heavy lifting, and movement throughout the facility, including the use of ladders when necessary.
