Tire Technician Position

Key Responsibilities:

Tire Installation:
Mount and balance tires on rims, ensuring proper alignment and fitment. Install and secure tires onto vehicles using appropriate tools and techniques. Properly torque lug nuts or bolts to manufacturer specifications. Tire Maintenance:
Inspect tires for signs of wear, damage, and punctures. Check tire pressure and adjust it to the recommended levels. Rotate tires to ensure even wear and extend tire lifespan. Perform wheel alignments and adjustments as needed. Tire Repair:
Repair flat or damaged tires by patching or plugging punctures. Assess tire damage and determine whether repairs are safe and appropriate. Replace valve stems and other tire-related components as necessary. Tire Replacement:
Remove worn or damaged tires from rims and dispose of them properly. Assist customers in selecting new tires based on their vehicle and driving needs. Mount and balance new tires according to manufacturer specifications. Customer Interaction:
Greet and assist customers in a professional and courteous manner. Provide information and recommendations regarding tire options, brands, and maintenance. Explain the condition of tires and any necessary repairs or replacements to customers. Provide cost estimates and process invoices accurately. Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain and calibrate tire mounting and balancing equipment. Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe. Safety and Compliance:
Follow safety protocols and guidelines when working with tires and equipment. Adhere to environmental regulations for tire disposal and waste management.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in automotive technology is a plus. Proven experience as a Tire Technician or related automotive role is preferred. Strong knowledge of tire types, sizes, and brands. Proficiency in using tire mounting and balancing equipment. Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy tires and equipment. Valid driver's license (if required). North American Truck & Trailer offers a competitive wage and benefit packing including:
