Associate Director for Career Development
The Associate Director of Career Development will be responsible for contributing to and executing a vision for career development that meets the unique needs of Arts and Sciences undergraduates. This includes increasing student engagement in career exploration, enhancing after‑graduation success through one‑to‑one coaching, career development courses, programming, presentations, and communication. The Associate Director will directly supervise a team of career coaches and collaborate with University Career Services and other colleges.
The role also involves building relationships with faculty, staff, alumni, employers, and others to generate and promote opportunities for internships, jobs, and graduate or professional school. Regular review, reporting, and action on data that highlights student engagement, activity, and outcomes are essential.

MinimumRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience in a university or education setting, including one‑to‑one student interactions in career services or academic advising; additional years of completed relevant education may substitute for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Demonstrated organization, time management, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills and supervisory experience.
- Experience with public speaking.
- Ability to learn and translate extensive career information, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to both collaborate and self‑manage.
- Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education, counseling, or related field.
- Undergraduate degree in the liberal arts.
- Seven years of experience in higher education setting.
- Background in the liberal arts.
- Experience building relationships across multiple constituencies and managing projects.
$60,000 per year minimum
