Position OverviewUniversity of the District of Columbia Community College invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in the Respiratory Therapy Program at this HBCU in the Nation’s capital. Incumbents must teach all assigned classes and hours as determined by the semester course schedule, and prepare and deliver relevant curriculum to students in the program using a variety of teaching methods, including lecture, discussion, demonstration, lab, clinical, and projects.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned respiratory therapy courses, including lectures associated with clinical experiences.
- Collaborate with the Program Director and Director of Clinical Education to assure adequacy of laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Advise students and evaluate evidence‑based learning outcomes.
- Participate in department, college, and university committees.
- Assess program effectiveness and assist in curriculum development and revision.
- Submit additional assignments as directed by the Program Director.
- Maintain close interactions among all students enrolled in the program.
- Conduct a minimum of five office hours per week utilizing Data Arc to record student competencies and participation in labs/clinicals.
- Adhere to college and program policies and procedures.
- Render textbook and other instructional material recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) from an accredited college or university.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist licensed by the District of Columbia, or eligible to obtain license.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience.
- Minimum of two years of academic or clinical teaching experience.
Due to the temporary nature of this appointment, the position is ineligible for benefits.
