Special Education Coordinator

190‑day position / Schedule 4;
Part‑time (up to 8 hours per day, M‑F, 8:00‑4:00).

• Provide assistance to students with special needs, non‑English‑speaking students, and students with physical or mental disabilities.
• Tutor and support children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, gymnasiums, and on field trips.
• Enforce school policies and rules governing student conduct.
• Observe students’ performance, record relevant data, and assess progress.
• Coordinate instructional efforts with classroom teachers.
• Present subject matter under teachers’ guidance using lectures, discussions, or supervised role‑playing methods.
• Organize and label materials and display students’ work appropriately.
• Distribute tests and homework assignments and collect them when completed.
• Use computers, audio–visual aids, and other equipment to supplement presentations.
• Attend staff meetings and serve on committees, as required.
• Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations.
• Carry out therapeutic regimens such as behavior modification and personal development programs under professional supervision.
• Provide disabled students with assistive devices, supportive technology, and assistance accessing facilities.
• Assist in bus loading and unloading.
• Transport students to and from school as needed.
• Maintain computers in classrooms and laboratories and assist students with hardware and software use.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Principal’s designee.

• Inside heated and air‑conditioned classrooms.
• Outside for activities with student supervision.
• Exposure to incidents of aggression when working with students with behavioral impairments.

At‑Will Position. This position is at‑will and may be terminated, with or without cause, at any time in the sole discretion of the ESU 13 Administrator or their designee.
