Men's and Women's Lacrosse Graduate Assistant
Midland University, a private, Christian, liberal arts university in Fremont, Nebraska (just outside of metro Omaha), is seeking a Men's/Women's Lacrosse Graduate Assistant. This position will be offered within our graduate assistant structure, requiring admission to the University's Master of Education, Master of Science Adult and Organizational Learning or Master of Business Administration programs. In addition to the academic responsibilities, the candidate will be responsible for contributing to various aspects of the lacrosse program, including assistant coaching, program administration, practice preparation, and other duties assigned by the Head Coach.
The person who holds this position will receive tuition remission from the University and potentially receive a campus meal plan, free campus housing and monthly stipend.
Job responsibilities include:
- Recruiting and retaining students for the Men's and Women's Lacrosse program
- Practice planning and preparation
- Coaching the position(s) or segments necessary as directed by the Head Coach
- Assisting with team travel and game day operations
- Assist in preparing scouting reports for future opponents
- Player development and management
- Monitor the academic progress of the student-athletes
- Responsible for administering NAIA, KCAC and Midland University policies pertaining to recruitment and student-athlete eligibility
- Continuously ensuring personal behavior and program reputation are in alignment with Midland University's mission and core values
- Other duties as assigned
Need to have:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Must meet eligibility for Midland University Graduate Assistantship program
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge and familiarity with both the Men's and Women's game
- Ability to maintain team discipline and instill proper ethical and moral standards
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic coaching/team principles
- Ability to effectively coordinate recruiting activities
Strong preference for those with:
- Playing experience at the collegiate level
- Knowledge of NAIA and KCAC Rules
- Previous coaching experience (College, High School or Club)
Required skills and traits:
- Experience uploading, editing and analyzing game film
- Great interpersonal skills
- Operate team social media accounts
Compensation:
- Tuition Remission in the master's program. Level of remission is dependent on degree pursued
- Free campus meal plan (15 meals per week) dependent on degree pursued
