Electrical Designer – Commercial Buildings

Morrissey Engineering seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Designer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is passionate about creating high-quality electrical designs for commercial construction projects. You'll work closely with engineering principals, project managers, and fellow design professionals to bring innovative, energy-efficient building systems to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed electrical system design documents using AutoCAD, Revit, and other software tools.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external design professionals on commercial building projects.
  • Review shop drawings, specifications, and construction correspondence.
  • Conduct job site visits for field investigations and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Deliver high-level client service and support throughout all phases of a project.
  • Maintain organized, accurate project files and documentation.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical design for commercial buildings.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and continuously improve technical and professional skills.
