Job Summary

$2,000 SIGN-ON BONUS

Methodist Fremont Health Hospital

Address: 450 E 23rd St. – Fremont, NE

Work Schedule:

Mon-Fri 3pm to 11:30pm with every other weekend and holiday

Responsibilities
  • Complete all aspects of floor maintenance following established procedures and timelines to ensure proper care of all floor surfaces in the facility.
  • Mop and machine scrub all hard surface floors.
  • Vacuum and spot clean carpets.
  • Clean upholstery as needed.
  • Perform stripping/refinishing of hard surface floors as needed.
  • Complete assessment, transport and disposal of all waste in a timely manner and following proper methods to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.
  • Complete daily trash pickup according to schedule. Replacing bags as needed.
  • Ensure box pick up from Materials Management occurs and returns carts.
  • Report improper waste handling following established guidelines and correct issues within scope of ability.
  • Complete daily cleaning of all areas according to departmental guidelines, providing a clean and sanitary environment.
  • Look for conditions that require cleaning (e.g., spots, spills and trash, etc.) and correct or report issue in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean supply area.
  • Assigned areas completed as scheduled.
  • Perform additional cleaning duties (e.g., wall washing, light fixture cleaning, lime removal, blind cleaning, etc.) as time permits in addition to completing projects.
  • Use chemicals safely and identify them by physical characteristics.
  • Report defects in the facility to appropriate department in a timely manner.
  • Maintenance requests are reported to the work order line routinely. (Before breaks, within two hours ) Environmental Services (EVS) equipment needing repair is taken the Facilities basement area and reported by the end of shift.
  • Maintain supplies to ensure adequate stock is available to complete daily cleaning duties.
  • Supplies are ordered by the end of shift on Mondays and Thursdays.
  • Uses proper Infection Control guidelines.
  • Practices and observes safety policies.
Job Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred.
  • Minimum age requirement is 16 years old.

License/Certifications

  • N/A

Experience

  • Must pass department chemical identification test.

Skills

  • Must be able to follow written and verbal communications.

Physical Requirements

  • Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (50 lbs.). Examples: grounds staff and EMS.
  • Located in an environment with regular exposure to moderate physical discomfort from fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noises and bright lights. Examples: mail clerks, material handlers and food service workers.

Hazards

  • Is subject to frequent contact with cleaning and disinfecting chemicals.
