Position OverviewIntegrated Life Choices (ILC) seeks compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). DSPs provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings and help them achieve their hopes and dreams. DSPs work independently, create safe environments, and provide accurate documentation for the support provided during every shift.
Responsibilities- Support individuals in understanding and exercising their rights.
- Encourage individuals to live a fulfilling life as independently as possible through self‑advocacy.
- Provide person‑centered support to meet individuals’ needs throughout their lives.
- Encourage positive interactions and improve social connections and relationships.
- Provide transportation for those you are supporting.
- Teach skills to improve a person’s life.
- Encourage participation in groups or organizations that align with a person’s personal interests.
- Utilize Positive Support Programs to guide daily interactions.
- Assist with personal hygiene and medical‑related needs, including medication administration.
- Maintain accurate documentation at the end of each shift.
DSPs who work at ILC vocational locations support individuals with planned activities that encourage community inclusion, habilitation, and activities of daily living.

- High School diploma or GED.
- Work can be physically demanding; examples include intervening in aggressive situations, lifting individuals to and from wheelchairs, supporting a person to and from a shower, and using a gait belt safely and dignifiedly.
Providing transportation for the people we support is an essential function of the DSP position. ILC requires all DSPs to have a reliable vehicle at every shift.
Education/Experience- High School diploma or GED.
- Completed Nebraska Child/Adult Protective Services Central Registry check.
- Completed criminal background check.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
