Reports To: Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Business

Requirements- BA or Associate degree with an emphasis on education and/or information technology
- Experience in the use and manipulation of complex databases including but not limited to setup, query design, and report creation
- Knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge and experience in Power School Information Platform
- Knowledge of computer operating systems and networks and basic programming
- Ability to direct, instruct, and train users with a wide variety of expertise and experience
- Leadership skills to delegate tasks and responsibilities
- Twelve month work year
- Daytime hours, full time (12‑month)
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive District, student, and personnel data
- Ability to clear a criminal record check
The essential functions of each employee’s position include (1) regular, dependable in‑person attendance, (2) the ability to perform the identified tasks and possess and utilize the identified knowledge, skills, and abilities and (3) the ability to perform the physical requirements on the specific job description.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership for and direct the use of the student information system (Power School) across the District
- Install software updates and patches
- Function as a support/help desk consultant for program users
- Lead and direct office associates in system use and function
- Train new employees on the use and operation of the program
- Maintain consistency and accuracy of records
- Perform new‑year rollover functions as necessary
- Import data from various sources
- Assist with printing of report cards, reports, schedules, and transcripts
- Customize screens and forms for SIS and enrollment portals using HTML programming language
- Assist with and finalize scheduling of student/teacher courses aligning with Rule 10 requirements
- Collaborate with Teaching and Learning Staff and Technology Staff to ensure systems communicate effectively
- Direct the installation, implementation, and use of electronic gradebook, student attendance and scheduling software, and mass communication/notification system
- Solve system operations issues and answer usage questions from staff and administrators; connectivity and maintenance of third‑party products
- Provide accessibility, and technical support for district, state, and standardized testing in collaboration with the Teaching & Learning and Technology department
- Monitor special education data and ensure reporting is completed accurately while meeting deadlines for IEP/IFSP and MDT’s
- Create and develop demographic reports and queries
- Attend training sessions as needed to maintain knowledge of all district‑wide systems
- Direct the successful submission of data and reports to the Nebraska Department of Education, ensuring state and federal reportable data are published and reported accurately (NDE) (NSSRS/ADVISER)
- Review and implement NDE data elements relating to student demographic data and programs
- Provide appropriate data exports for external data systems for use by district staff
- Extract and report staff data to NDE
