Position: Sanitation Technician Days (M-F)

Job Overview

Sanitation Tech – Days Shift (6:00 am – 2:30 pm, Monday–Friday)

Responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of food safety.
  • Assisting all areas in maintaining high levels of daily cleanliness and adherence to site GMPs.
  • Prioritizing work on a daily basis by identifying pressing issues through communication with operators, understanding shift production plans, and awareness of area.
  • Promoting a high‑quality team environment through effective teamwork and self‑management with a positive attitude.
  • Performing all assigned activities and job tasks within the area.
  • Understanding production schedules as they relate to shutdowns.
  • Detailed cleaning of large areas and work spaces.
  • Detailed cleaning of large pieces of manufacturing equipment.
  • Understanding microbiological and pest control as it pertains to a food manufacturing environment.
  • Working with all teams at the site on sanitation, pest control, and housekeeping projects.
  • Working in enclosed spaces and at elevated levels.
  • Desire to work as an interactive team in a plant setting.
  • When assigned to a specific operation area, completing all duties associated with that assignment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Performing sanitation duties as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule, with particular attention to lock‑out/tag‑out procedures and completing required documentation.
  • Assisting the plant to meet or exceed production goals.
  • Other duties and responsibilities throughout the plant as assigned by Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
  • Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to plan work on a daily basis, work independently, and be a self‑starter and highly motivated individual.
  • Ability to work with a team and effectively interact with other departments.
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of work experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated competency in computers and PC software including MS Office and email.
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
  • Standing on a concrete floor.
  • Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
  • Bending, stooping, twisting, turning, standing for extended periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 55 lbs.
  • Vision correctable to 20/20.
  • Must not be afraid of heights; must be capable of working at elevated heights.
  • Must not be unusually sensitive to chemicals (contact lenses not recommended).
  • Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as heat and cold, dust, dirt, and chemicals.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to move light to moderately heavy objects.
  • Ability to visually receive and differentiate colors.
  • Ability to understand written and printed material.
  • Ability to understand verbal information.
  • Ability to actively exchange ideas or thoughts with others.
  • Ability to handle tools or equipment.
  • Ability to work under tight schedules in high‑pressure situations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, exposure to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock.
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
