Job SummaryThe Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production equipment in a food manufacturing facility. This role ensures that products are produced efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Set up,operate, and adjust food processing and packaging machinery according to production requirements
- Monitor equipment performance to ensure consistent product quality and output
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on machines
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and report major malfunctions to maintenance or supervisors
- Follow all food safety regulations, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and sanitation procedures
- Maintainaccurateproduction records, logs, and reports
- Ensure proper handling, measuring, and loading of raw materials
- Keep work area clean and organize din accordance with sanitation standards
- Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and quality control staff
- Adhere to all workplace safety policies and procedures
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability tooperatemachinery
- Ability to read and follow instructions, recipes, and safety guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Ability to stand forlong periods(up to 8–12 hours)
- Capableoflifting upto
50lbs - Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot/cold environments depending on area)
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motion
- Food manufacturing/processing facility
- Exposure to machinery noise, temperature changes, and food production materials
- May require shift work, including nights, weekends, and overtime
- Certifications (e.g., forklift, food safety training) may be a plus
- Opportunities for advancement into supervisor, or technician roles
