Position Summary:
The Lead CNA - Training Specialist serves as a key leader on the overnight shift, supporting clinical excellence through hands‑on care, mentorship, and training of new and current CNAs. This role combines direct resident care with leadership responsibilities, ensuring team members are confident, competent, and aligned with organizational standards. The ideal candidate is an experienced CNA who leads by example, demonstrates strong clinical skills, and is passionate about developing others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, resident‑centered care in accordance with care plans, policies, and regulatory standards
- Serve as the overnight shift lead, supporting workflow, prioritization, and team communication
- Train and onboard new CNAs, including shadowing, skills validation, and competency support
- Mentor and coach team members to ensure consistency in care delivery and adherence to best practices
- Assist with reinforcing clinical standards, infection control practices, and proper documentation
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify training needs and performance opportunities
- Support shift coverage needs and step in as needed to maintain quality care
- Promote a positive, team-oriented culture aligned with organizational mission, vision, and values
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of CNA experience required; leadership or training experience preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to teach and coach others effectively
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and lead a team during overnight hours
