Position Summary
The Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing and coordinating nursing care on the assigned shift while ensuring residents receive high-quality, individualized care in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and state and federal regulations. The Charge Nurse serves as a clinical leader and resource for nursing staff, promotes positive resident outcomes, and supports a culture built on teamwork, responsiveness, and service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care and medication administration to residents
- Supervise and support CNAs and other nursing team members during the shift
- Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes appropriately to physicians, families, and leadership
- Complete accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident needs and emergencies
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and resident assessments as needed
- Promote a positive team culture and support exceptional customer service
- Active RN or LPN license in the state of Nebraska
- Current CPR certification preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team-focused environment
