Job Summary
Position:
Registered Nurse (ICU). Must have 2+ years of critical care experience.
Location:
Methodist Fremont Health Hospital, 450 E 23rd St., Fremont, NE.
Work Schedule:
(2) 12‑hour shifts from 7 pm to 7 am. Part‑time hours with full‑time benefit package.
- Sign‑on bonus: $16,000 (portion after six months, one year, two year and three years)

- Provides accurate assessment of patient/family to identify health conditions.
- Performs patient care assessments and reassessments based on condition and policy.
- Utilizes the nursing process when providing assessment for all patients.
- Assesses and reassesses pain and applies pain management techniques.
- Documents all assessments and reassessments accurately, legibly, and timely.
- Formulates nursing diagnosis and develops goals.
- Creates and revises care plans based on assessment data.
- Assesses discharge needs and formulates discharge plans.
- Implements nursing treatments and manages nursing practices.
- Performs direct patient care using professional nursing skills and judgment.
- Instructs patients and families on health care practices.
- Administers medications correctly based on patient age and condition.
- Ensures documentation meets current standards and policies.
- Evaluates and adjusts care plans to promote patient outcomes.
- Monitors effectiveness of learning and discharge teaching activities.
- Coordinates multidisciplinary patient care.
- Communicates patient care information clearly.
- Assists physicians with procedures and rounds.
- Delegates tasks appropriately and evaluates outcomes.
- Consults with coworkers and other departments for interdisciplinary care.
- Complies with safety policies and regulatory requirements (OSHA, JCAHO, CLIA).
- Completes annual safety training and departmental in‑services.
- For home health: implements Medicare requirements for eligibility, documentation, and compliance.
- Plans and delivers care based on comprehensive assessment throughout admission to discharge.
- Documents care within regulatory time frames and supports quality metrics.
- Uses Oasis assessment data to plan and monitor patient care.
- Coordinates continuity of care for home health patients.
- Participates in the hospice interdisciplinary team for hospice patients.
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma/College of Nursing with an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). BSN preferred.
- Current valid Nebraska Registered Nurse (RN) License, valid compact multistate license, or temporary permit while awaiting licensure.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at hire, required within 3 months.
- Preferred: 4th LDRP/Peds Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certificate (C.EFM) of added qualification from NCC within 1 year.
- Preferred:
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Two to five years of previous inpatient nursing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of computer resources.
- Proficiency in nursing practice.
- Self‑directed and independent.
- Excellent communication with diverse disciplines.
