Nursing Assistant, Certified, Assisted Living

Position Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to residents in an assisted‑living setting, providing resident‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse.

Compensation: Starting Rate: $17.00 – $25.00.

• Assist with basic health‑care needs including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support.
• Assist residents in transferring, repositioning, walking, and using correct transfer techniques and equipment; perform range‑of‑motion and passive exercises.
• Prepare food, support dining experiences, assist with meals and snacks, and provide water and supplements.
• Assist nursing staff with procedures, collect non‑invasive body fluid specimens, and gather vital signs.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse within state‑defined scope of practice.
• Document outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary.
• Communicate changes in condition, medication follow‑up, and care‑related concerns to the charge nurse.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry services as needed to maintain resident living areas.
• Facilitate wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation.
• Deliver age‑appropriate care per the care/service plan, including dementia care when required.
• Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and personal protective equipment usage.

Expect to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. Shift assignments are based on nursing area and resident location. Support 24‑hour coverage in some locations.

• High‑school graduate or GED (preferred; not required).
• Minimum age of 16.
• Preferred prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in assisted living.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing (required).
• Annual competency testing and completion of 12 hours of continuing education credits.
• Maintain department‑specific certifications; UAP registry compliance where applicable.
• Potential driver qualification – valid driver’s license and motor vehicle report if driving duties are included.
• Physically able to perform essential job functions and meet health and safety requirements.
