Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Fremont, NE

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite

• Provide direct patient care in a 12-bed Emergency Department, including two dedicated trauma/cardiac bays, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of up to 1:4
• Manage ER holds intermixed within the ED, including patients requiring critical care monitoring and vasoactive, sedation, and other critical care drips
• Perform and interpret EKGs, conduct lab draws (90% of lab draws performed by RN), and collaborate with CNAs trained in phlebotomy to meet department standards
• Coordinate care for a diverse patient population including nursing home residents, rural and farming community patients, and BLS-transported patients
• Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, respiratory therapy, and ancillary staff to facilitate patient transport to radiology and support interdisciplinary care
• Assist with psychiatric patient management utilizing the dedicated psych/safe room and coordinate with security and support staff as needed

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Previous Emergency Department experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• ENPC certification required (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to manage critical care drips including vasoactive and sedation infusions

• Experience with Cerner electronic health records
• Prior triage experience in a high-volume Emergency Department setting
• Familiarity with cardiac monitoring and telemetry strip interpretation

• Work in a collaborative, team-oriented ED environment with strong physician, mid-level, respiratory therapy, and support staff coverage available around the clock
• Gain experience in a well-supported community ED serving a broad and varied patient population with access to a full radiology suite including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine
