Overview
Quality Control Inspector l-Time position in a general shop environment with potential outside exposure. The role focuses on inspecting critical parts, evaluating root causes of deficiencies, and supporting the Quality Manager to ensure production meets quality standards.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret customer specifications in comparison to drawings and production output.
- Assist the Quality Manager in reducing rework and eliminating waste.
- Inspect parts to confirm there are no quality issues.
- Maintain quality control documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis to determine corrective steps with the Quality Manager.
- Assist with other projects for the betterment of the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a quality inspector or in the manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of fire truck systems and functions.
- Experience with weld inspection.
- High School Diploma or GED (minimum).
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude; ability to read blueprints and specification books.
- Ability to identify quality issues and adjust processes accordingly.
- Ability to read a tape measure and use basic hand tools.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
- Commitment to safety policies and creating a safe work environment.
- Adherence to attendance and punctuality standards and professionalism with customers.
- Leadership, attention to detail, and strong communication skills across all levels.
- Language, reasoning, mathematical, and computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Outlook).
- Adhere to all company policies.
Continual education as required and deemed by management for professional growth.
Working ConditionsGeneral shop environment with possible outdoor exposure. May experience temperature variations; primary hazards from machinery. Follow proper procedures to minimize risk.
Physical DemandsMostly standing and walking; occasional use of hands, wrists, and fingers for tasks. May require protective apparel and lifting up to 50 pounds. Includes various movements such as reaching, bending, kneeling, and climbing. Vision requirements include near, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
