Propane Service Technician

Gothenburg, Cozad, Callaway, Arnold, Stapleton, North Platte, Lexington

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• On‑the‑job training with existing propane service technician.
• Ability to troubleshoot and identify problems.
• Technical skills to use tools and equipment to analyze a system or component.
• Valid driver’s license with company‑approved driving record.
• Obtain CETP certification and line‑test training.
• Class B CDL with Haz Mat endorsement or ability to obtain within 90 days.

• Perform safety inspections of residential and commercial propane systems for leaks and other problems.
• Install, remove, and maintain propane tanks, and make field repairs of tank valves, seals, lines and regulators.
• Inspect and test propane tanks for leaks, corrosion, and ensure they are functioning properly or need repair/replacement.
• Attend and participate in all meetings and training as directed by supervisor.
• Submit required reports as mandated by law and supervisor.
• Administer and control credit within the association’s established credit policy.
• Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork and a favorable image of the Cooperative.
• Ensure facilities, equipment, and safety compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service, manage difficult situations, respond promptly, resolve questions and concerns.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with customers, employees, and management.
• Maintain and promote safety awareness; follow safety policies and reporting requirements.
• Present a clean and professional appearance.
• Perform all other duties as directed by supervisor.
