Description
Position Overview:
The Reefer Technician is a vital member of the Maintenance and Repair team within RMG. The Reefer Technician's primary responsibility is the maintenance and repair of generator sets and refrigeration containers in order to keep the facility in working order. Other job duties include performing pre-trips, training new hires, and other operations as needed. The Refrigeration Department is fast paced and requires individuals to effectively communicate when working with heavy machinery.
The Reefer Technician must maintain a safe yet efficient mindset when maintaining facility equipment to best assist and support with the successful onward movement of customer cargoes.
This position will learn directly from the experienced Reefer Mechanics. Some experience that will
Essential Responsibilities:Asses, document, and fix equipment including generator sets and refrigeration containersPerform pre-trips on containers and generator setsPerform routine checks to prevent equipment failuresAdjust and replace faulty parts to ensure equipment functionality and safetyEnsure all work complies with safety regulations and standardsMaintain daily records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspectionsReports on priorities and work plan to the Refrigeration SuperintendentPerform daily housekeeping and preventative maintenance dutiesPerform other duties within other departments as neededRequirements
1 year experience with HVAC or Refrigeration maintenance preferredExcellent team playerDesire to learn and grow technical skills from more experienced mechanicsExperience placing work ordersExperience maintaining a parts inventoryDiagnostic and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skillsExperience generating reports in different software systemsAbility to perform physical demanding tasks and work in various environmental conditionsWillingness to teach new team members#J-18808-Ljbffr
