$26 - $30 per hour

Position Summary

Responsible for the safe operation of industrial trucks in the transport and delivery of construction materials to railroad construction jobsites. Performs a variety of tasks involving physical labor at construction sites, utilizing hand and power tools and other equipment.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Operate equipment to move, load, or unload material (approximately 20% of the role); the other 80% involves general labor tasks.
  • Install equipment or attachments on machinery and related structures; perform repairs, maintenance, and emergency adjustments as needed.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently, performing routine safety and maintenance checks in compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate machine actions with other crew members using hand or audio signals; signal directions or warnings as necessary.
  • Identify and avoid hazards such as utility lines, falling objects, or nearby workers; locate underground services before beginning work.
  • Review instructions, plans, and diagrams to understand work requirements.
Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a driver in a construction environment.
  • Must have a CDL class A Drivers License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Driving Record.
  • Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety requirements and procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand construction specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Work at construction sites and travel as required.
  • Frequently use hands to operate tools, materials, and vehicle controls; rely on eye‑hand‑foot coordination and full range of vision.
  • Sit for extended periods in enclosed vehicles and perform repetitive motions.
  • Regularly lift or move heavy equipment and objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Be exposed to moving mechanical parts, loud noise, and extreme weather conditions (hot and cold).
