Registered Dental Hygienist Fremont, OHJob Duties
- Evaluate patient dental health and requirements through screening protocols, including reviewing medical history, performing dental and periodontal charting
- Provide direct hygiene care following standard dental hygienist protocols
- Measure and record patient vital signs
- Conduct standard procedures such as prophylaxis and polishing
- Capture diagnostic radiographs as directed by the dentist
- Apply preventive agents including sealants and fluoride treatments
- Maintain accurate electronic patient records
- Document patient dental history and primary complaint
- Record and communicate relevant clinical findings
- Educate patients on preventing caries and periodontal disease via nutrition and effective home care
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments
- Prepare and complete treatment plans as outlined by the dentist
- Present treatment plans and associated costs to patients
- Relay patient questions and concerns to the dentist
- Serve as lead treatment coordinator
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be dependable and consistent
- Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene certificate or associate degree program with a valid North Carolina hygienist license
- Capable of independent decision-making and sound judgment
- Able to develop, influence, understand, and apply operational procedures
- Strong team-oriented mindset
- Proactive, reliable, and punctual
- Able to perform detailed, repetitive tasks with precision
- Adaptable to varying assignments with a positive attitude
- Follows directions and takes ownership of responsibilities
- Maintains strict patient confidentiality
- Proficient in reading and comprehending safety guidelines, procedure manuals, and written communication
- Can interpret instructions delivered in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule format
